What you see is all homemade, except of course for the plastic plate.
For a while now I have been trying very hard to make white cake that isn't incredibly dense. I have tried various recipes from very reliable sources and they have all failed. I bought actual cake flour and those recipes still failed. Last night I took a gander at the recipe on the back of my flour bag; tender white cake. What could I lose? It worked! My cake isn't dense. It actually is pretty light weight and fluffy. It is a bit on the dry side, so the next time I want to try it I think I'll try adding half yogurt and half milk. My mint fudge ice cream complements it quite nicely.
