Ode to the food of the day

 potatoes, parsnips, carrots and a red onion
 croutons for stuffing or dressing
 the seasonings for the above bread
 that's one full oven!
 the leg from the half of turkey my husband bought. Yes, just half a turkey this year.
 Gratin root vegetables
 the traditional relish bowl, updated
and of course an apple pie
