On friday I looked out the window and saw a City Light worker in a bucket heading towards our street lamp. At first I though this was a bit odd since the light wasn't burned out. Then I realized, as my children watched with great excitement that he was replacing the entire light with a new LED one. Our old light was a much mellower, softer yellow. This new one is glaringly bright, almost a false daylight quality. It seems to be more on the blue spectrum of light waves too. I know the picture doesn't do it justice as to how bright it is out there on the street at night now. I know it is far better to use LED lights but from an aesthetics stand point it really does suck. Thankfully my black out curtains keep the new glare out.
