Traveling Skylight Salesman?

This is the house across the alley from us. This is the place where the supposed block watch captain lives, the people who saw lumber being stolen out of our backyard and called the police. But when the police came to investigate (and after the husband followed the thieves) they refused to cooperate or give their names.
For a number of years I have been wondering why they have so many skylights on the back of their house. And now that our house has been remodeled I can see them even better. I am not the only one who wants to know the answer to this question either. Various guys from the different jobs we've had done over the last year have also been curious. The lift guys were funny and the most recent to ponder the high number of skylights. The front of the house has no skylights on it's roof. To me it seems like they would have lots of leakage and an less then sturdy roof with that many cutouts in it.
