Let's all do the Time Warp!

Now, I've been thinking this for a while and haven't said anything. I shall remain silent no more.

Is it just me or have we gone back to the 1980's? The wealthy seem to be getting richer. The poor are struggling more and more ever day. And the middle class can't seem to find its footing. Taxes keep escalating into the fair skies above. We are trillions upon trillions in debt. The environment is being ransacked. Our image around the world has been trashed. And now of course they want to ban one of our fundamental rights of freedom of speech: flag burning. Not to mention we are in the middle of a bloody war that no one seems to know why we are fighting. Oh, and they are talking about going into Central America again on the pretense of democracy.

Funny last time this all was going on we had Reagan and Bush (senior) in power. And if memory serves correctly it was a GIANT mistake!

Now, don't get me wrong, there isn't a political leader out there who isn't flawed. And the democrats had only a spineless assortment of candidates to choose from last time around. Why do the older men get to run our country into the ground? Where are all the younger men and women who have new ideas and better foreign etiquette?

The smoke and shadows routine should be retired for good. When I leave this country on travels I am often times embarrassed to admit that I am from the USA. We've turned into such an ugly neighbor and world citizen. Can we pick ourselves up from this debacle and gain some respect with the other countries of the world?
