Education Corner: T or F? The North Star is the brightest star in the N. Hemisphere?

How many of you said TRUE? I hate to break it to you but the correct answer is FALSE. The North Star is the 49th brightest star in the northern hemisphere. Well, then what is the brightest star you say? Sirius in the constellation of Canis Major. It is also called the dog star.
